Expression of Interest: Riverina Men's Health Centre Working Group
Expressions of Interest are now being invited from local men to join a volunteer community working group that will drive the development of a long-term vision for a Riverina Men’s Health Centre in Wagga Wagga for men, by men.
This group will play a key role in leading strategic planning, shaping the centre’s model of practice, establishing governance structures, and guiding fundraising efforts with an initial commitment of 2-3 years.
Individuals with skills to support the above or a strong connection to the community and a passion for improving men’s health and wellbeing through a collaborative, sustainable, and locally-driven approach are encouraged to apply.
Applications close Monday 8 September at 5:00PM.
Following on from the Wagga Wagga and Surrounds Men’s Leadership Forum in July 2024, the Men’s Consultative Committee was formed. An idea was sparked that – in admiration of the Wagga Women’s Health Centre – a men’s health and wellbeing centre should be established in Wagga Wagga to service the needs of men in the region.
Murrumbidgee Men’s Group Founder Rhys Cummins alongside Councillor Richard Foley and local Cultural Knowledge Holder and artist Bernard Higgins will convene a panel in 2025 to review applications and determine next steps for the initiative.
The Riverina Men’s Health Centre Working Group Expressions of Interest process is supported by Wagga Wagga City Council as one of the recommendations from the report in response to Councillor Foley’s Riverina Men’s Health Centre Notice of Motion (RP-1 RESPONSE TO NOTICE OF MOTION - RIVERINA MEN'S HEALTH CENTRE) tabled on Monday 12 May 2025.
